It’s sew fun

8 Nov

I took a break from the needlepoint baby blanket – I ran out of black thread, so I dug out this sampler I started over the summer. It’s from dropcloth on Etsy – I love her samplers. I’ve done a couple, I’m not sure what to do with the finished ones…I was thinking of sewing them together into a quilt, but we’ll see.

As much as I like easy, instant gratification projects (like the house slipper), I also tend to really enjoy more involved projects. I like beading projects, but I haven’t done one in ages – I like how it takes forever and how the details slowly emerge. I have a friend from high school who’s now a fashion designer and he always says that we should work together since I like the tiny details (like beading) and he does not.

My stitches are supposed to come out today – it’s day 10, but I think it’s slightly infected so I’m not sure if they’re going to take them out or not. It doesn’t hurt anymore, it just drives me crazy that I can’t bend it. At any rate, the doctor will be able to tell me if it’s okay.

Interesting, how it’s all about stitches today. 😉 That sampler is amazing! I can’t even imagine how amazing a sampler quilt would be!! Hope your finger gets better quickly!

It was all about stitches! I didn’t make the connection until you pointed it out.

My stitches are coming out tomorrow – thank goodness!
