Thoughts on Fall

Picture 046

We’re in the middle of fall right now and it reminded me of one of the things I really miss – the changing leaves! I grew up in Connecticut where every fall I would look forward to the leaves changing. I remember when I was little my mom and I would take weekend drives to look at the leaves. Now that I live in Tennessee, the leaves still change but it’s not the same.

The picture above was taken last fall when my husband and I went to CT for a quick visit. We got kind of lucky in that we got there during the best time to see the leaves. I took this picture in my mother in law’s backyard – she doesn’t have very many trees, but the ones she has are lovely in the fall! We actually do have a lot of trees in our yard, but none that turn that shade of red in the fall.
